Luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz, has finalized on an in-car infotainment system that has complete Google Glass integration. The automotive giant had been working on this integration since July this year, and Google Glass’s primary task in this setup will be to provide seamless navigation guidance, inside and outside the car. Additionally, Mercedes wants the driving experience to be made easier, with the information in the smartphone and tablets, made available to the driver without having to look away from the road.
While speaking with Automotive News, Mercedes' head of North American R&D, Johann Jungwirth said, “"This is an example of a seamless transition as you stay connected when you get to your car, when you drive, and when you leave your car."
Jungwirth also mentions that there will be certain other applications that can be integrated with Google Glass, but did not give out any details on what those apps might be.
With Google Glass deployed, the driver doesn’t have to juggle with multiple devices, even when accessing music, e-mail, GPS assisted navigation, real-time traffic info etc. However, Jungwirth is quick to point out, "We obviously don't want people using Google Glass when they drive."

Mercedes says that the technology is ready and waiting, but will be made available in their cars once Google announces official commercial availability of the Google Glass.
