Snapdeal launches 'price search on SMS' service
Online marketplace Snapdeal has introduced a new “Price Search on SMS” service. The new initiative allows users in India to search information about any product on Snapdeal before buying them.
To avail this service, users need to send a SMS (Standard SMS charges apply) with the name of product they want information about to 92789-92789 and Snapdeal would send them the top results along with their prices and a link for instant purchase.
“Furthering Snapdeal’s vision of providing the Best Savings on the Widest Range of Products, we have launched this Price Search on SMS service that ensures customers have easy access to the best prices possible on anything, anytime, anywhere,” says Ankit Khanna, VP, Product Management, Snapdeal.
Snapdeal's new initiative comes shortly after the company launched a new platform called ReGlobe, where users can sell their used gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops.
Of late, Snapdeal has turned its attention towards mobile phone users. Its recent survey on m-commerce trends reveals orders placed over from mobile phones have grown 10 times in the last 12 months.
