GOOGLE CALENDAR FOR ANDROID UPDATED WITH NEW FEATURES

Google Calendar for Android updated with new features
Google has announced revamped Calendar app for Android, making scheduling and planning more efficient. The update also brings a Material Design to Gmail. The new Google Calendar is already available for Android 5.0 devices and will be rolled out to devices with Android 4.1 or higher in the coming weeks.
The new Google Calendar is smarter and automates lot of things from your e-mail. For example, every time you receive confirmation emails for flights or hotel reservations, they turn into calendar events automatically. The app also keeps a track of flight numbers and check-in times, and automatically updates any real time changes, like flight delays in your Calendar.
Last month, Google had unveiled a new mobile app called Inbox, which is designed to help organize emails in your Gmail account. The new feature competes with apps and services like Dropbox owned Mailbox.

Google has also announced a new feature called Assists, which incorporates information like phone numbers, addresses and attendees from your stored data in your Calendar. The update also brings a new Schedule view which includes photos and maps of the places you’re going and even includes illustrations of everyday events like drinks, dinner and yoga.

Google recently announced free 1 minute international calls from your Hangouts app. The feature will be available to users in 25 countries, including India till the end of the current year. Google says that the feature will allow users to say a quick hello or deliver an important message for free. However, to get the free minute users will need to have some calling credit in their Google account.
