Microsoft is reportedly going to launch a smartwatch in a couple of weeks. According to a Forbes report, the new wearable device from Microsoft will come with features such as heart rate monitor and support for multiple mobile platforms along with larger battery life.
The report says the Microsoft smartwatch will offer battery life of more than two days of regular use. It's notable Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smart watch and Moto 360 need to be charged once a day, points out the report. Microsoft is banking on the large battery life for getting a leg up on the competitors, which have recently joined the wearable segment.
Wearable devices segment, smartwatch and smart glasses in particular, have gained huge attention of late. Though still in its nascent stage, support from big players like Microsoft and Apple will be a huge push for the segment. We are hoping wearable devices to go mainstream in 2015.
