iPhone 5 catches fire on plane, leads to passenger evacuation
An iPhone 5 caught fire as a flight was beginning to embark from Tel-Aviv, Israel to Prague, Czech Republic, forcing passengers to evacuate the plane.
According to reports Yardin Levi’s iPhone 5 caught fire and started spewing smoke throughout the aircraft cabin. The 150 passengers aboard the aircraft had to evacuate the plane while officials checked things out. While none of the passengers were hurt, Yardin had to leave her toasted phone behind in Israel, but everyone was allowed re-board the plane. There is no explanation as to what might have caused the fire.
This is not a first story where an iPhone caught fire. Previously there have been reports where an iPhone 5c caught fire and burned its schoolgirl owner, while another iPhone 4 caught fire in an Australian plane.
Reports about a Samsung Galaxy S4 burning a Hong Kong residents home have also been there. The resident Mr. Du and his wife suffered minor burns caused due to the fire. The entire apartment complex had to be evacuated because of the possibility of the fire spreading.
In December last year a Samsung Galaxy S4 customer posted a video of the handset that caught fire when on charge. Allegedly Samsung demanded the video to be removed if the customer wanted a replacement and not to reveal circumstances or make any possible future claims against Samsung.
