Microsoft Devices has officially announced the launch of its Nokia Lumia 530 (dual-SIM) smartphone in India. Touted as the most affordable Lumia, the new Nokia smartphone is priced at Rs. 7,349.  The Lumia 530 will be available in the market starting August 14.
The Nokia Lumia 530 has a 4-inch FWVGA LCD display. It runs Windows Phone 8.1 and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone has a 5MP rear camera.
The Lumia 530 comes with 4GB internal memory, supports storage up to 128GB via microSD and 15GB free cloud storage. For connectivity, the smartphone supports dual-SIM connectivity, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth (4.0), GPS and Micro-USB. The smartphone is powered by a 1430 mAh battery.
The Lumia 530 is also available through the Windows Phone Snapdeal app on Lumia 530 at Rs. 3000 discount.  They also stand a chance to win 6 free movie tickets from BookMyShow when they book seats to any show through the app. Additionally, Airtel prepaid subscribers will get 500 MB of 3G internet free for 2 months.
“The affordable smartphone segment is growing exponentially, driven primarily by youth who are constantly looking out for smartphones with power packed features at affordable prices.  We, at Microsoft Devices, are committed towards helping people experience the uncompromised technologies and services that we offer on our Lumia devices. Lumia 530 builds on the legacy and success of Lumia 520 and will help us consolidate our position in this segment further,” said Viral Oza, Director-Marketing, Nokia India.
The Nokia Lumia 530 is set to compete against a range of Android smartphones such as the Unite 2 and Moto E. Despite attractive pricing, factors such as lower RAM, lesser storage and fixed focus camera may disappoint many.
