HTC has launched its One E8 and Desire 616 smartphones in India at Rs. 34,990 and Rs. 16,900 respectively. The E8 will be available later this month, while the Desire 616 hit stores.
The HTC One E8, also considered to be affordable version of the flagship One M8, features a 5-inch full HD display.It has a 13MP main camera with a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and a single-LED flash, and a 5MP front camera with BSI sensor.
The smartphone runs 4.4.2 with HTC Sense 6 and is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage expandable with microSD card up to 128GB. The HTC One E8 is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
The E8 will be available in four color options - Polar White, Electric Crimson, Maldives Blue, and Misty Gray. It's notable the flagship One M8 was launched in India for around Rs. 49,990.
While the E8 takes on the high-end segment, the new Desire 616 seems more focussed on the mid-range segment.
The Desire 616 features a 5-inch 720p display. It runs Android 4.2.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5 and Blinkfeed. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor along with 1GB of RAM.
It sports an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The smartphone comes with 4GB of built-in storage, supports microSD card for additional storage. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. It is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.
The Desire 616 competes against a range of octa-core smartphones such as Panasonic P81, Micromax Canvas Knight, Karbonn Titanium Octa, Gionee S5.5.
