Asus Fonepad 8 coming to Asia this month for $200

Asus Fonepad 8 coming to Asia this month for $200
The Asus Fonepad 8, which was announced back in June, is reportedly going to be released in Asia this month. The reports also say that the device may soon be available in other regions as well. The device will be an upgrade to the company’s current Fonepad 7 voice calling tablet. It is priced at $199 (Rs. 12,200 approx.) in Malaysia and $230 (Rs. 14,000 approx.) in Singapore, where it is expected to be available from October 10.
The Fonepad 8, like its predecessor, supports 3G connectivity and voice calls using dual-SIM cards. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and has an 8 inch IPS display with 800x1280p resolution. It also features a 5 MP rear camera along with a 2 MP front camera. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz Intel Atom Z3560, which is a 64-bit SoC, along with 1 GB of RAM.
While the device’s size makes it a tablet, Asus has often called it a phone cum tablet, thanks to the voice calling feature. Asus has recently taken a lot of interest in the Indian market, which could mean that the country will be one of the first to get the Fonepad 8 in Asia. The company has seen a lot of success in India with its Zenfone series of smartphones and is doing well with the Zenfone 5, Zenfone 6 etc.
