The next iteration of the much talked about OnePlus One smartphone may be coming sometime next year. Carl Pei, Director of OnePlus Global, during a AMAA (Ask Me Almost Anything) session on Reddit revealed to a user’s question that the OnePlus Two would be coming in Q2 or Q3 next year and may be smaller than its predecessor. He also revealed that the smartphone would be running on Android L.
During the AMAA session, the OnePlus director hinted that wake-up triggers could be making way into the OnePlus Two, with “Ok, OnePlus” beng the hotword to be used. It was also revealed that they are interested in making wearables and are exploring the idea but the if, when and how is not known at the time.
For all current OnePlus One owners a new OTA would be coming soon, which will resolve the display issues and include other software improvements as well.
As for One Plus One’s India launch OnePlus has not given any confirmation but Pei said they are aiming to give the OnePlus One an India launch before the end of this year. He also said that their team is still planning how to sell its devices in India. He said that concrete plans and policies will be announced in a few weeks.
